Hope during these Uncertain Times

Hope during these Uncertain Times

Undeniably, we are all in a time when all things seem to be uncertain. There are many questions that may have been bothering you for days, weeks, or even months already.

When will this pandemic end? When will the virus be fully eradicated from our country and from the entire world? When will things be back to normal?

It may have brought worries, fears, and anxiety to your heart.

It may have caused you to have sleepless and restless nights.

All your questions about the future and your emotions are all normal and valid because we are all in a very challenging time. But are we just going to just let these questions and emotions haunt us and bring us down?

Just like what we have mentioned in our previous blog, our emotions are valid but not all are beneficial to our well-being. It's important to acknowledge our emotions and situation but it is very crucial to loosen its grip on us. If we dwell too much on our emotions and situation, it may cause negative effects on our overall state before us noticing it. And this is the stage that we have to quickly intervene to avoid these emotions and situations to incur greater damage on us.

With this, we have to learn to properly deal with our emotions by releasing them in an appropriate manner. We may destress in several ways such as through exercise, self-reflection, prayer and Bible time, hobbies, and healthy conversations with friends and family.

Aside from these, we have to refocus our eyes and see that there is still hope during these uncertain times. Yes, positive thinking will be very helpful but its good effects on us may just be temporary because our positive thinking only comes from ourselves. Time will come when positive thinking may not fully work.

We have to go back to our ultimate source of hope. Where can we really find true hope during this time? We need that hope that does not depend on the situation. We need that hope that will bring life and light to us. We need that hope that will carry us through in every trial that we are going to face. We need that hope that will encourage and remind us to continue to hold on and not give up on life.

For some of us, it may be hard to find hope during this time because we do not know where to get it from. Where can we find this kind of hope?

Yes, it will only come from our source of hope--our heavenly Father. We can only find true hope in Him. The hope that He provides does not depend on our situation or our emotions. Even if everything seems uncertain, let's go back to our source of hope and everything that we need. God is always ready to fill us up with His fresh hope, grace, mercy, love, rest, and strength every day.

We just have to draw ourselves to Him.

He is waiting for us. He is waiting for you.

He wants to have an intimate and personal relationship with you.

Because He loves you, me, and all of us with an everlasting love, He sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross for all of us. Imagine, who would give His Son to die on the cross for sinners like us? Only God can. He showed His unconditional love for us when Jesus died for us, even if we do not deserve it. Why? Because we are sinners who do not deserve that kind of love. No one is worthy and deserving of that kind of love yet God gave Jesus for all of us.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" - Romans 3:23

Yes, all of us are sinners. All of us are not worthy to be loved by God because He is a very holy and just God. But because He loves us so much, Jesus died on the cross for us. He is just waiting for us to come to Him.

When we humble ourselves before Him and sincerely ask for forgiveness from the things that may have hurt Him, He is always ready to forgive us because He is a loving, gracious, and forgiving God.

If you want to ask God for forgiveness for all your sins, sincerely cry out to God everything that you want to ask for forgiveness from. He sees your heart. He will not condemn you. Just be honest with Him.

May you choose to turn away from your old ways and turn to God today.

May God's perfect way of showing love for you and for all of us soften your heart. He is the only One who could love you this way. Because He wants you to have an intimate relationship with Him and have Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

With this, God has a special gift for you. It is a gift that we can only receive when we accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior of our life.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 6:23

It is only through Jesus Christ that we can have a relationship with God again. It is only by sincerely accepting Jesus as the Lord and Savior of our life can we see our real purpose and identity and have eternal life. It is never through our works.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God" - Ephesians 2:8

Now that you are reminded of how much God loves you through Jesus Christ, would you like to accept His gift? Would you like to fully surrender your life to Him and have Jesus as the Lord and Savior of your life?

If your answer is yes, you may sincerely pray this prayer to God:

Father God, I humbly come before You right now. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I have done several things that have terribly hurt You. I am truly sorry for all the things that I have done. I sincerely ask for Your forgiveness and mercy, Father God. With this, I choose to turn away from my sins and turn to You. Thank you for loving me unconditionally even if I am a sinner. Thank you for displaying your love for me and for all of us when You sent Jesus to die on the cross for me and for all of us. I really don't deserve it but You still gave Your one and only Son, Jesus for all of us. Thank you so much, Father God. Thank you for the free gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ and today, I decide to surrender everything to You--all aspects of my life. Today, I accept Jesus to be the Lord and Savior of my life. May You help and guard me, Father God to live a life that will bring glory and honor to You every day of my life. Thank you, Father God, for everything. Thank You for this new life and hope through Jesus. In Jesus' mighty and precious name.
